The Electric Skootr Championship (eSC) is a brand new, future-vision sport that seeks to showcase the future of micro mobility in its natural habitat – city centres.
Our team at SMG has been involved with eSC since its inception by launching their official social media channels and creating a variety of content to establish the new sport, its founding principles and key messaging in the first year of its existence.
From strategy to ideation and implementation – we created content from scratch before the revolutionary series’ infrastructure was built to introduce its upcoming arrival to the world and to celebrate its first major landmarks.
These ranged from creating bespoke animated assets for the first ever team announcement, Carlin Racing, teasing footage and stills from testing phases to covering the sport’s first ever multi-rider testing camp in central Italy in the summer of 2021.
Following the series’ official launch trailer – a 3D MGFX collaboration with our production partners Berry Cinema, viewed over 100k times on YouTub – the result was “eSC for Beginners” an animated explainer and brand awareness series outlining the what, why and how of the world’s first micromobility racing championship, kicking off in 2022.
Written and produced by SMG, the 6-part series was watched over 1m times, earning over 65,000 engagements. All in, SMG supported the growth of eSC’s social media following to just under 15,000 highly-engaged followers within a year of its inception before any riders, race locations or specific championship details were available.
